When will your Team start on my wedding day?

– For any scheduling questions, we ask that you fill out the online wedding forms closer to your wedding date (available 4 months prior to the wedding date) and we will be connecting you with our Studio Coordinator to confirm the starting time. For any emergencies, please call or email our Studio and our Team will assist you accordingly.

Are you insured? Do you provide certificate of insurance?

– We most definitely are! If your venue requires it, shoot us an email 1-2 months before your wedding date and we’ll be sure to send you a copy!

I would like to pay by check! Who do I make the check payable to? Where should I send it?

– Please write us a check payable to ‘JAYlim Studio’ and you can send it to 182 Post Ave., Westbury, NY 11590.

Can I make a credit card payment?

–  We accept credit card payments via PayPal and Venmo with a surcharge. To make a credit card payment, please email us at support@jaylimstudio.com

Is it still possible to order albums and/or cards even though I already signed the contract?

– Of course you can! For pricing, please reach out via email or phone. Please use the online order form to process your order and we will have our Team contact you with the invoice before finalizing.

What is direct printing?

– Direct printing allows you to order prints directly from your online gallery. It’s like online shopping! 

When can we schedule our photo/engagement session?

– We typically try to schedule all sessions during the weekday (Monday-Thursday) because our photographers are usually booked for the weekend to shoot weddings. Also, due to many locations being less crowded on weekdays, we recommend avoiding scheduling your session on a weekend.

How far in advance should we schedule our engagement session?

Our bookings are available 3-4 months in advance. If you’re looking to send out Save the Dates, we recommend scheduling your session 6-8 months prior to your wedding day. You’ll need to leave about 2-3 weeks after the session for us to provide you with your proofs, so please plan accordingly.

What should I wear for my engagement session?

– Depends! When will you be having it? Where would you like your photos taken? For tips, please visit this page.

What will you do if it rains on the day of our photo session?

We always monitor the weather, so if the weather conditions, including excessive heat, wind, rain, do not permit us to shoot, we will contact you to reschedule for another date.

Is there a fee to reschedule our photo session?

No. However, if it’s rescheduled due to personal reasons, we kindly ask that you inform us as soon as possible. 

How do we receive our engagement session photos? How many photos?

Your engagement session photos will be available on an online gallery. Access code & password will be sent to your email. You can also access them on your portal!

What is direct printing?

Direct printing allows you to order prints directly from your online gallery. It’s like online shopping! 

Do you provide wedding photo teasers?

Yes we do! We provide photo teasers 2-3 weeks from your wedding date.

When can we expect our proofs?

Depending on the season, production times will vary. Post production for engagement session can be completed around 2-3 weeks after the session. For wedding or event proofs, you can expect them to be available 10-12 weeks after your wedding date. 

Can I post my photos on social media?

Yes, you can! When sharing your photos on social media, kindly credit us @jaylimstudio.

How long do we have our online gallery until?

– Your online gallery will expire 2 years from the date that you receive your proofs.

How can I order prints?

Please utilize your online gallery for direct prints, wall mounts, canvas orders. Also, you are free to use any third party printing company.

I have a photo(s) from the original folder that I would like to edit. Is it possible to have it edited?

We sure can! We offer re-edits so please inquire at support@jaylimstudio.com. 

Can I have RAW files?

Unfortunately, we do not provide any RAW files.

When can we expect our cinema proofs?

Depending on the season, production times will vary. For wedding or event cinematography, you can expect them to be available 10-12 weeks after your wedding date, or from the time we receive your video song list, if submitted after your wedding date. 

Do you provide teaser videos?

Unfortunately, we do not provide teasers for cinematography. We ask that you patiently wait until the 10-12 weeks mark. 

How long is the Highlight Reel and the Full Edited Video?

The Highlight Reel will be 3~4 minutes long. The Full Edited Video will be 40~60 minutes long.

How many songs do you need for the highlight reel? For the full edited video?

Please provide us with at least 1 song for the highlight reel & minimum of 4 songs for the full edited video (total 5 songs).

What are your suggestions when choosing songs for the video?

Great question! We suggest providing us with combination of fast and slow songs for the full video. We recommend slow songs for the preparation while faster and upbeat songs for the Dance portion of the video. As for the highlight reel, we suggest to select a song longer than 3 minutes – enough to collect all special moments. If you are still unsure, please provide us with a list of songs for the Cinematographers to choose from. More songs the better!

Can we upload the videos on my social media accounts?

– If you would like to plan on posting your videos on any social media accounts, we suggest selecting songs that have copyright license. Please select from the websites provided on your Wedding Checklist. 

Can I have the RAW video?

– Unfortunately, we do not release any RAW footages.

Why is my cinema placed on hold?

Your cinema may be placed on hold as we did not receive your song list. For details, please email us at support@jaylimstudio.com.

How can I request for re-edits?

Yes, you are able to request re-edits! For further details please email us at support@jaylimstudio.com. 

Will I be able to review my album before printing?

Of course! We will be sending you album draft layout per order before printing.

I need help on selecting my photos!

What if I want to use original images for my album?

All of our photography packages include up to 25 images for reedits free of charge. If you would like to use original images towards your album, please utilize this service and request for edits from our Team. Additional fees may apply if it has already been used.

What is the difference between album spread and pages?

A “spread” is in reference to when a book is opened flat and you see a left and a right page. One spread equal two pages.

I want to add more photos! How can I do so?

As a rule of thumb, one spread will hold about 1-5 images. If you would like to add more photos than the recommended amount, we suggest purchasing more spreads. For example, if you would like to add 10 more images, we suggest purchasing 2 additional spreads. Unsure? Contact us!

When should we expect our first draft layout?

Please expect your first draft layout 1-2 months from the order date. Depending on how many orders you place at once, turnaround time will vary.

We allow up to 3 re-edits per album order. You will be receiving a draft layout each time you request for re-edits. Additional fees will apply on the 4th+ request.

The period of time prior to production will vary as it will depend on how quickly we receive your replies or how many edits you request. Also, depending on the season, production times will vary, but will take up to 3 months to receive all orders. To avoid any delays, please make sure to let us know where you will be picking up the finished products.

Is there any late fee that we should be aware about?

Yes! To avoid any late fee(s), please send all of your album order form(s) within 1 year from your wedding date.

Will I be able to review my card layout before printing?

Of course! We will be sending you card/magnet draft layout per order before printing.

When should we expect our first draft layout for our cards?

Your first card/magnet draft layout will be available 1-2 weeks from the order date.

How many times could we request for re-edits for cards?

We allow up to 3 re-edits per card/magnet order. You will be receiving a draft layout each time you request for re-edits. Additional fees will apply on the 4th+ request.

Any advice on image selections?

When selecting images for your cards, try to select horizontal images for horizontal cards and vertical images for vertical cards to maintain the dimensions of the image.

How long does it take to receive my cards?

All card/magnet orders will take 7-10 business days from the day that you confirm for printing. To avoid any delays, please make sure to let us know where you will be picking up the finished products.

I forgot my account ID!

No problem! Your account ID is your contract number and available on your contract, top left corner. 

What is the portal for?

The portal is for your convenience when reviewing your contract, invoice details and Wedding Forms. 

Does it send payment reminders?

– Unfortunately, we do not send payment reminders. We ask that you note it on your calendar!

Why can’t I access my Wedding Forms?

Wedding Forms are available 4 months prior to your wedding date. As wedding details may change along the planning, we kindly ask that you fill them out once the details are confirmed. If you have questions regarding the timeline, feel free to contact us at support@jaylimstudio.com.

I didn’t receive the account information.

The invitation email to your portal is sent 1-2 days after the contract is fully signed. Please check your spam folder!
